Early in the year of 2023, bassist Vaughn Morrison took to Craigslist in search of fellow musicians with a desire to take on a jazz & neo-soul infused collaboration. When vocalist Nalani “Moon” Mason serendipitously stumbled across his post, a family was born. Emails and audio recordings were exchanged, and the band began to bloom. Vaughn invited a group of friends teeming with skill and Moon called upon one of her most talented friends.
Before long, the once ragtag group of online strangers came together from all walks of the DMV and became what they are today: the Moonshine Orchestra.
